Foster Care Committee Prioritizes the Child’s Well-Being in All Decisions.
The Foster Care Committee at Dubai Courts reaffirmed that its decisions are guided by the child’s well-being. In every case, the committee considers factors such as the family environment, regular visitation, psychological and behavioral stability, and the child’s education. It emphasized the importance of providing clear reasons and justifications when requesting custody, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of all circumstances affecting the child—including psychological and social aspects—rather than focusing solely on legal considerations or isolated incidents.
The committee clarified that it issues precise recommendations, which may occasionally include exceptional measures, such as dividing siblings between parents to protect younger children while ensuring proper supervision of older ones. Recommendations may be revisited if new circumstances arise, such as cases of child abuse or changes in the family environment. The committee affirmed that all recommendations are subject to court approval, with the ultimate goal of securing the most stable and supportive environment for the child, ensuring their well-being and overall welfare.
